DRAGON!

*GRIN*

Aren't they cute?!

I've been eyeing the blue dragon for a few months now and today, I bought it for my baby nephew as a full moon present!

He's the latest, gorgeous little addition to our family and all his doting uncles, aunts, granduncles and grandaunts are happily shopping for baby clothes and toys before Saturday.

I can so picture the dragon in his cosy nursery. *beam*

On a random note, nowadays when I'm talking to someone and want to say 'dragon', the word 'dinosaur' elbows its way out instead. My boyfriend would know. It happened thrice in the same conversation! I theorise it has to do with the abundance of dinosaur characters' presence in the media during my childhood. i.e.
  • Denver The Last Dinosaur (who can forget that theme song?)
  • Land Before Time
  • Dinosaurs (the American sitcom)
  • the Power Rangers' robots that transformed into dinosaurs
  • the Transformers dinobots
  • the Flintstones (with their dinosaur-operated technology)
Even the Doraemon series had a book about a dinosaur adventure.

I'm trying to think of cartoons that had dragons in them. Good, nice, friendly dragons. Not the Dungeons and Dragons type.

Let me know if you think of any.

Hahhaha.. I was trying not to mention Barney because of that song... It really does stick in the mind, doesn't it? I'm so glad that the Barney-the-purple-dinosaur craze is over. :)

Well.. It's not a cartoon, but the dragon in Dragonheart is actually friendly (and quite the personality too...:D)

Cartoon dragons... Mulan had a cartoon dragon, IIRC the mythical chinese dragons are actually described as playful and breath water instead of fire.

I love Mushu!! Don't know how I managed to forget him.

Chinese dragons breathed water instead of fire? Now that's something I never knew. Very cool. :D

Awww, I love babies! You must be thrilled! And I love those stuffed dragons...how cute are they?! Who would have thought dragons could look so adorable? hehe

I looked it up... and it doesn;t actually breath water per se, but

"The Chinese dragon is traditionally also the embodiment of the concept of yang (male) and associated with the weather as the bringer of rain and water in an agriculturally water-driven nation."

Hey Rakhers!! I am thrilled! I love going out to buy baby toys and clothes. Now that auntie Debs is sort of working, at least I can afford it. :D

Hi Nicholas! Hahah.. I didn't realise that Chinese dragons were associated with water. Every time someone says "dragon", I immediately think "fire". :)
