Museums

I have a thing for museums. There's something magical about them. I love the quiet solitude and the fact that they give us insight into the past. History fascinates me. It always has. Reading about history is one thing... but actually seeing artifacts, things that real people used in their daily lives so long ago... is incredibly exciting.

I also have a thing for ancient architecture. You have no idea how happy I was when I got to see and touch Roman ruins on my trip to Turkey. The amphitheatres were amazing! And Ephesus! Would you believe I went to Ephesus? The Ephesus mentioned in the Bible! How cool is that?

I suppose this makes me somewhat nerdy. But I digress.

As far as museums go, Melbourne's museum is especially nice. Its bright, airy and even has its own 'rainforest' with live birds and fish and all. I love it. Its one of my favourite places.

I brought my favourite guy to there when he came to visit. We only went to the Discovery Centre this time though. We're saving the whole museum experience for October when we can spend at least half the day there.
