Something fishy

I am seething.

Something fishy is going on.

Last week I received a call at 11.34pm on a week night from a guy with an Aussie accent saying that he was calling in response to an advertisement. As I was already sleeping by then, I groggily answered the phone and asked him what he was going on about. When he still wasn't making any sense, I hung up and went back to sleep.

That thing he said about an advertisement bothered me though.

Then today I received an unsettling call when I was having dinner. Some sleazy guy with an Indian accent called me saying that he wants to "meet for some fun" and that I "gave him my number last week".

Bullshit.

I don't give my phone number to strangers and I certainly didn't give anyone my phone number last week.

This call bothered me more than the first because he knew my name.

Something is going on. I'm not quite sure what but I am keeping a log of their numbers.

Any ideas about what I should do?

Hm...try to ask them who they are when they call again...if they're still persistent, report to the police or change your number.

Thanks liz. I was thinking along those lines too. Was mainly considering making a police report if they call again.

I doubt the first caller will call back but the second one seemed more dodgy.

hmm, maybe some drunk girl is going around giving the wrong number to guys by accident...

or u know how girls make up numbers so sleazy guys don't call them? maybe your number was one of the "made up" numbers.

Hi Andrew. Those are good theories. I don't think that's the case though.

The first caller called about an advertisement (which I suspect is the icky sort cos who calls at 11.34pm asking about an advert?)

The second caller knew my name.
